Welcome I to am a past mechanic (ASE certified master auto tech) Gave it up a few years ago to start rehabbing houses. A lot less stress, flexable hours and a lot more fun. A good fundamental mechanical background will serve you well. Just read a lot and ask the questions you need answers to and you will do well.
