Newbie painter

Hello all, newbie reporting for duty. I love painting and have been doing it for family and friends for a few years now in my spare time. Having recently been laid off after 10 years as a web designer, I have decided a career change is in order. So I'm gathering my painting supplies and am going solo, concentrating on residential repaints. I have a lot to learn (mostly on the business end of things), but I have a supportive wife that is encouraging me to take the plunge and be my own boss. It looks like there are a few paint contractors here that will hopefully let me pick their brains
