Newbie - home renovation

Hi All, just found this site this A.M. I'm an avid DIY-er and Mechanical Engineer (HVAC), and I'm still very green. Make no mistake, I'm here to learn, not to preach. I bought a fix'er up'er last year and I'm in the process of gutting it down to the studs, upgrading electric, plumbing, sewage, etc. Except for the framing, I'm basically rebuilding the house. Why? Everything else I could think of would either get me arrested or killed. So I figured, what the heck, I might as well renovate a house. So here I am. Nice to meet you!

Thanks for the "welcomes", y'all. No, I'm not from the south, not a chic either ... but I like the cute ones. Okay, back on track. 'gshock' is my favorite kind of watch. It's the only one that stands up to the abuse while doing home renovation projects. It's helpful to know what time it is so you know how much trouble you'll be in with your wife/girlfriend when you get home. Currently, I don't have either, hence the home remodel. Not sure what came first, the chicken or the egg.

Too much coffee in the P.M. makes you say stupid stuff in DIY forums.

In order to get out oil, you need an emulsifier, something like Lestoil or Dawn. I think you're posting in the wrong forum if you're looking for a recommendation for a cleaner.

Check the yellowpages. Good luck.
