Newbie to Forum

Hi! This is Teresa in Lubbock, TX. I am retired and I found this group while looking for plans for a bunkbed. This looks interesting, so thought I would join with the experts!

I sew, quilt, refinish old furniture (no paint!), and have built a few items. I also am dabbling in some DIY around the house, i.e., laying tile, refinishing kitchen cabinets (layers of paint being stripped to get to the wood). I built one wall in main bathroom and partially removed one without checking the attic (I'm claustrophobic)! Alas! It's only about a 3ft section, but I found out it was a retaining wall going into the small laundry room (washer on left, dryer on right). It's a very small space without any wiggle room, so now I'm researching on how to build a header to put the 3ft section back! Geez!

I learned my woodworking skills from my dad, now deceased, and just wish I had paid a little more attention when he was trying to teach me. I have my own power tools but always request more for birthdays and other occasions! I can't have enough! I've managed two arts 'n crafts shows in Kentucky while a military spouse, and I've learned through my mistakes, but I keep plugging along. Look forward to work with y'all!
