New from Utah. ;)

Hey guys,

New to the forums. First time home owner and I have big dreams and ideas for it. Overwhelmed to say the least at the amount of awesome things I can do now as a homeowner, but I will get through it.

Any good places to start? I have very few tools, where can I learn about the basics, what to buy, where to buy? A new home owners tool kit, as it were!

I'm pretty proficient at fixing things. I've worked on cars a lot and have done heavy jobs like swapping engines and transmissions. I've also worked with computers a lot and a little bit of electronics work.

Thanks guys and I look forward to being active and giving input/advice when I can!

I think a simple painting project isn't a bad way to get started. It's hard to mess it up (if you listen to all the help here). Aaaand you get some quick satisfaction of DIY'ing yourself and a big impact!

Goo luck

Thanks guys.

Here are a couple of my desires for our new house.

1. Basketball court in the backyard
2. Recording studio in the basement
3. Man cave in the basement

As I said, I have very few tools. Can you guys point me in the right direction to find some great info?
