New to these forums and DIY in general

I bought my one story duplex 2 1/2 years ago. This city was originally built as affordable housing for the vets returning from WWII. Generally the house is in pretty good condition but some of the tasks I will be taking on will require much more knowledge than I have. There is a certain satisfaction to learning house maintenance and doing it yourself that I wish I would have picked up more of when I was growing up and helping my dad more than I did. But better late then never.

I have lurked around the forums for a while and I figured I may as well sign up for as I know I will have questions. One of which will be involving a floor joist that is raised on one end and seems sunken on the other. I still have some pictures to take and make a new thread for that one.

Thanks a lot for the info I have already gathered from this site. I look forward to learning as much as I can and hopefully one day I can return the favor for new members.

Have a good day

Welcome. Like you, it took me longer to get into DIYing than it should have. Bought a fixer upper and I've been haunting these forums ever since.
