Howdy to all who carry that wierd and wonderful DIY gene!
I am a home builder of 35 years, now retired.
The retired part can get really boring some times so I thought I'd stay in touch by way of the forum.
Don't mind putting 3 plus decades of experience to work for somebody getting started.

HI Home doctor, 35 years is a great deal of experience. Have you done any work with Mobile homes?

We recently started renovation on a manufactured/ double wide home. I am still working on plans to renovate the kitchen / LV area.

Do to it being such a gut job, it has been put on the back burning.

Right now I am looking into light weight ceiling options that work well with mobile homes unique structure.

Any suggestions for light weight ceiling options? I was curious about 1/4 inch drywall. concerned about sagging, unless we add more furring strips and then the weight is always an issue. Wall board, can i seal seems to make it look like a ceiling.

Maybe when I win the lottery I will just tear down and build new

Drywall is the least expensive method with best appearance.

Thanks for any tips you can give.

Its been awhile since you been online- so hopefully your still here.
