New & Nervous

Hi there,

Bonster here. The "new & nervous" in my post title refers to my status as a landlord -- almost. My hubby and I just bought a foreclosure as an investment property here in northern California. We plan to fix it up (minor stuff -- I hope!), rent it out, and thus begin building our real estate empire.

If all goes well, the closing will be in late July and after we get possession, we'll be busy sprucing it up. Mainly painting, carpet replacement, new windows, some kitchen improvements... but the house appears to have "good bones."

Hubby is handy. Me, not so much. But I'm good at following directions and am eager to learn. I'm even better at coming up with "great" ideas. But not so good at convincing my hubby to implement them all.

Anyway, I foresee lots of DIY stuff in my future and am looking forward to learning and sharing with y'all in this awesome forum!
