New From Minnesota - Land of 10,000 Furnaces

Hi All,

I have been reading your site for a while and decided to join. You have the best DIY site on the net.

I can remember when the internet first started (Wow...How long ago was that?) and was looking for information about trouble shooting a furnace.

I could not find any information at all. Things sure have changed.

I am very Happy to be part of this "Great" site and I hope to help in any way.

I have a BS in Industrial Technology and am a part owner of a hardware store. I have been involved in both residential and commercial construction since 1979.

Happy to be Here!

Mike (IHICH2011) means I Hope I Can HELP 2011!

ICICH2011 -

Welcome from another Minnesotan. I grew up in the Twin Cities, lived in Virginia, MN (Iron Rainch) for a while before in CA, CT, VA, MI and before coming back to MN.

Norte of Dulut is certainly a lot of open space with many different weather conditions. I went steelhead fishing up the shoe from Dulut when it was about 75F at the Dulut airport on the ill and 33F down on the lake with snow flurries.

Glad to have you on the forum - Ya shure!!!

Dick

Fred the Fish is really a female that has been renamed "Fredrika". About 44 pounds when caught and officially 38 pounds two days later. About 40-50 years old because of the cold clear water and no enemies. About 45 minutes to land on 6# line and she was hooked in 10' of water and went out so thankfully there were no snags at 200' deep. - Caught 100 miles ENE of Inernational Falls, MN in early June just after ice-out and her tail was still raw from fall spawning. - WE were just fishing for some small walleyes for lunch. Also got a 26# trout and a trashy 48" northern pike (24#) that the guide want to throw back just after pictures since it had a way to go to be a trophy.

Wow!!! What a beautiful record fish! You sure have a way with the fish! You should start your own site and teach us all how catch them beauties!

We usually fish Leech Lake and the Walker area for walleye. My biggest is a 30" and my sons is a 27". I am still looking for that old 50"+ Muskie. This summer was tough with some very bad weather. We were at Leech on June 17th when the big tornado came through and destroyed Wadena. It came right over our cabin and took out some trees, but, no serious damage.

Good Luck this spring!!!
