New member need help

Hello all,
I am a working recently widowed single parent with a older home. Home improvement were my husbands job and now is my responsibility. There are questions that cannot be answered unless paid for and I am now on a budget to complete our home projects and pay for them so I cannot afford to pay some one for advice. Anyway can at least one thing in this world still be free, advice? Thanks for listening, see you in the forums!!

I have a montgomery ward 230 amp arc welder, when i first start to run a bead it is slow starting and sticks alot after it runs about maybe ten seconds i can operate it ok, now this is when the machine is cold.
I have not run any other machines to compare it to.
Thanks maxwell

Maxwell, Since Montgomery Ward has not been around for a while, I think it may just need a cleaning internally for dust and possible corrosion. Also check the cable connectors. The problem sounds like it loses amperage while in use. This may need to be addressed by a Pro familiar with the electrical system of the machine.
