Hi Everyone-I found this incredible site while trying to find info on Railroad tie retaining walls. We have one that wasn't done right by the previous owners of my current home, so now we are replacing it. I am a Mom of 2 great kids and work full time at a flooring store as an Interior Designer. I've worked in furniture retail, electronics and appliance retail as well. I completely gutted the second floor of my last home, a Cape Cod.

I'm available to answer questions about carpet, vinyl, laminate, wood and ceramic floors as well as home furnishings. Msfixit

Thanx for making a newbie feel welcome! Your suggestions are appreciated and and being implemented re:drainage.I also discovered a portion of the "good" part of the wall is on an old concrete slab from an old garage. Pictures before, during and after will appear as we progress.

Nice to hear from another Michigander, I live in Howell myself with my wife and son. I love summers in Howell but unfortunately the weather will be changing soon and I'm not a winter person.
