Hello to all! I've just joined up, and am hoping to get some great tips and advice for my DIY projects, and hope to supply some tidbits of helpful experience as I go along.

My husband and I just put in an offer (which was accepted) on a 1914 pit of a fixer-upper, and will have the inspection done this weekend. If there are no major structural repairs, we will be spending the rest of our weekends up to *here* in sweat, blood, and tears!

The house is a combo of "Victorian" and Arts & Crafts. It's been severely neglected over the past few years, and needs loads of work. I have experience in DIY projects on homes of around the same age, and love to get my hands dirty. For my husband, this is the first time he'll have lived in a home that doesn't share walls with another home, and it will be his first experience in DIY. He's coming at it all from a foreign perspective, too, being from the UK.

The house is located in the Palouse area of Washington State (SE). If for some reason we don't get this one, there are a few others we are looking into, so either way, I'll be searching the forums!

Sorry for the long introduction!

The 1914 home should provide plenty of surprises when fixing it up
Take lots of pics
Good luck, I hope you get it

Hi and Welcome to the site. I hope your fixer ''upper-experience'' goes well with this home.

Wow 1914!! I'm coming across some surprises with a house built in '79 I just bought in November. You should have a good time.
