New from Iowa

Thought I would introduce my self ive been lurking around on these forums for a few months and decided I should start an account so I can post.

I live in cedar rapids iowa and just bought my first home. its a split foyer home built in 1968. and half of the basement is a two car garage.

First big project was a kitchen remodel due to hidden water damage by the previous owners estate.

before picture. all the appliances on one side of the room and minimal counter space.

new kitchen

other wall with the Stove and microwave.

This project took about three months from demo to finshed. I completed all the work with the help of my GF and father. we did sub out the floor. But we did every thing else drywall (opened up both door ways into the kitchen),new exterior door, adding/moving electrical etc.

the house has several more projects on the list. next on the list is a new fence come spring and then we will re do the main floor bathroom.

17,000 dryer fires a year, when did you last clean the inside of the dryer near motor or the exhaust ducting?

thanks all. Yes the purple is kind of bold. but the kitchen had a orange accent wall prior to having to gut the kitchen. So bold colors dont scare me. The Gf and I had thought we wanted a Red but after the cabinets were delivered we decided it just wasnt going to work out how we wanted. so multiple color samples painted on the wall we found this.
