New To This "Home Repair/DIY" Stuff

Hi all,

I'm Jeff.

My family has lived in our house for 13 and a half years now. It's a story-and-a-half brick in southern Indiana, built in 1951.

Never really NEEDED to do anything major to it, but finally decided to add on.

We've already added a new-construction master bedroom and walk-in closet, and are now converting the old master bedroom into a master bath.

We are using a contractor to do the major work, but the "little things" that we can handle, we're doing ourselves.

And that's why I'm here. We always knew we had REAL hardwood floors under the carpeting all over the house, but never had the desire or enthusiasm to deal with them.

Now, rather than recarpet or tile over the floors in the new bathroom, we've decided to keep them, but they need a LITTLE work.

I'm hoping to get some good advice as to who to do what needs to be done.

I guess I'll see you all in the flooring forum!

Thanks for havin' me!
