Since I asked a couple questions already I thought I should introduce myself.
I am a first time home buyer, late 20-something, and proud daddy of a 6 week old baby boy.
We will not close on our house until the end of next month but my mind is already racing with all the things that need fixing or adjusting or upgrading! Its a 26 year old house so there are plenty of expected issues. We bought it from a house flipper who bought it from foreclosure. I don't think he finished the flipping job yet as the remodel is really only 90% done (light fixtures never got swapped out and the landscaping is totally absent). But it is the RIGHT neighborhood and right price and most importantly the wife says that its THE house which means its THE house were going to get (as many of you men know, the wife's word is law in many cases).
I work on computers, and am not terribly handy but will be trying to change that about myself in the coming months.
Consider me a kind of handy-man in training...
Also, anyone considering buying a house at the same time you are having a child.... don't. Unless you have to. So stressful. But worth it on both counts.
