New Home Owner

Hi everyone. I am a fairly new home-owner, with a bit of a fixer upper. I am having some problems with my bathroom sealing around the tub and shower. It keeps coming out. First we just recaulked it - twice. Then, we took out all the old grout and regrouted, then recaulked. Right now, the grout is mushy and the caulking is coming out again. We are not certain what we are doing wrong. Any ideas? We are willing to do the work but, are frustrated in having to repeat the job over and over.
