Hi everybody!
New member, I just bought a place in Southern California with an old cabin, built in 1895, it needs to be repaired to be structurally sound. I will have questions on how to reinforce such old structure. It has just been gutted from the inside, now how to reinforce the structure? It has no foundation and the roof caves in a bit. They did not use 2 x 6 back then but 2 x4???? It seems this way at least. Fortunately there is another house on the property in better shape, so I can live in it while I fix the older one.
Glad to be here, I will probably post pictures when I have specific questions.
