The new guy! (until someone else joins)

Hi all, looking forward to basking in the glow of all the DIY mavens here. I'm in New Castle, DE, a SAHD with delusions of handiness that is looking to hack away at the long "To Do" list we have on a 1950-vintage home we just bought this year. Any info or suggestions I can find are welcome and I expect to be spending a good bit of time here.

Thanks for the welcome, I have already found a lot of valuable information and a really pleasant atmosphere here. I look forward to years of asking dumb questions

No such thing as a dumb question....

....and you wouldn't BELIEVE the stuff that goes on behind the scenes here that we moderators have to go through to keep it pleasant.
Some people's children are quite problematic and require constant babysitting.....

Welcome Dave--Most of the homes built in the 1950s were pretty well put together---They have reached the age where plumbing and electrical are in need of updating---Lucky you!!

Have fun---Mike---

Considering the general level of insanity prevalent on the internet and some of the things I have seen on boards where my wife is a mod, I can genuinely appreciate what it takes to maintain a community such as this. It is quickly evident that someone has been doing a fine job keeping this neighborhood tidy, the effort is appreciated.

I am a mod on some other boards, so I know how much work these guys do. But it can be fun too.
