New DYI Female

Hello fellow DIYers...

I have a love of gardening & wood working.
The back yard, which was covered 90% with ivy and has several hills was viewed as a challenge, but I had a vision that it could be mastered with a lot of sweat & and a few tears... it is a project still in progress.
To date I have built, with a lil help:

14x16 raised deck
12x8 shed with a loft area & attached deck
2 arbors, 1 with fence attached
1 Pergola
L shaped retaining wall w/viewing area that surrounds the pond
Rectangle gazebo (over looks the pond)
Privacy fence

The photos look great! When we were looking at our future home the landscaping was so overgrown that our buddy disappeared from our sight from our back deck and he called out "Good news- no alley!" It's funny because we're only 20 blocks from the center of downtown skyscrapers. We have so many vines that in the summer we see green from most of our windows [no we don't have any vines attached to our house though I did build a western exposure arbor for the vines and for the great cooling shade]. Welcome to the site. There is a wealth of information archived in these pages. Cliff

Thanks for your welcome & comments. Tackling all the ivy over a couple of years was a tough job, Glad you are enjoying your home!
