Question

Microlam Beam Installation

I have a contractor installing a 16' beam to span two rooms. I would like to move to a 20', but he's telling me the minimum height will not meet code. I cannot find what the minimum height requirement is. I know doorways are usually 6'8". (glulam)

6'10" is the minimum height no help to this forum. I found this by calling a local engineering office.
