kitchen renovation

I am completely renovating a house. All is going as well as can be expected until I reached the kitchen. The kitchen cabinets as well as all walls are knotty pine. I really hate to remove this but don't know what to do with it. I have already removed the lower kitchen cabinets because they were in bad shape. But the top cabinets are in good shape. What should I do? Paint the knotty pine walls one color and then the top cabinets another and add lower cabinets of same color as I paint the top cabinets. I have no idea what will look good with knotty pine if I don't paint them. HELP!!!
