Just saying hello

I have been ripped off by my final contractor (there have been 4 over the years). I have had to rip out and redo everything they assured me they were capable of doing, (one of the contractors, a "friend" for years helped himself to items out of my home while he had me run to a lumber store for him) so I'm now completing my house on my own. I have completed 5 rooms with 4 rooms and an attic to go and winter on my heals, so time is running out and I really hope this site helps with some of my questions.

Sherri, welcome to the site.

Far too many people have been taken to the cleaners over the years and have no idea what to do about it. But for a "friend" to pull a stunt like that is unforgivable.

Any questions you have will be met with quick responses, and hopefully you will be guided in the right direction. If I can help with anything, please don't hesitate to ask.

I'm sure you will have a lot more welcomes soon!

Thank you for the warm welcome. I simply cannot wait to get this house put back together.

Sherri, we are happy to have you here. That is a crying shame that people will take advantage of others and one supposing to be a friend. That is not even close to being a friend. If we can help just jump in and we will do what we can.

Hi and welcome Sherri!

I feel so bad for you. It's a real shame that you have been taken advantage of and robbed. I sure don't blame you for doing the work yourself now. It's really too bad because there are a lot of very honest, dependable contractors and tradesmen out there.

You came to the right place for help though. Like you, I have been doing most of the diy work here at home - most of it being work I've never done. And the gentlemen here have been very helpful and informative. Not much of it would have been possible without advice from these guys. You'll get along fine here.

Good luck with everything and don't let it overwhelm you (easier said than done, eh?).

Remember, there is no question that you can't ask here. And, pictures along with your questions always help.

Barb
