Just bought an old house in Anchorage, Alaska

Hi all,

We just bought an old house here in Alaska that is in need of serious remodeling. Pretty much every room, floors, roof, furnace, yard, etc needs updating.

I'm going to be spending the next few months heavily renovating and I will post pictures since I will be using this site so much for questions and ideas.

Looking forward to the work.

might want to get somebody good to check over the heat exchanger on that furnace and test the system out for now to get you thru till spring 2010,and it would be a big $$$ out of the way till maybe tax refund kicks in.the reason i mention the heat exchanger it is the main failure item that would cause a immediate change of the entire furnace...

Thanks. Actually had the pressure relief valve fail two weeks before we closed on the house, so the owner had it fixed. Furnace is on its last legs.

Good idea to get it looked at to get us through the winter. Thanks.

back on that furnace you might want to see if and how tight it is on the duct work connections off the main and into the registers..they sell a gallon container of duct sealer(thick rubber sealant) and with a cheap paint brush go 360 degrees around all the connections......main thing up there is have fun and enjoy working on all your projects:thumbsup:
