New to the site, my husband and I just bought a new house and alot to do. My question is, This house has beautiful wood work through out the house with dental molding. The new style is painted trim and doors a eggshell and coffee brown or tan walls. Should we or should we not paint this wood work? Will It have impact on the value of my house if we do paint the wood trim? any thoughts?

Are you saying you have older woodwork that is clear finished and newer woodwork in the house that is painted and you are trying to match the old with the new? Pictures are always helpful. My opinion is that it is always desirable to keep the natural look of the wood but it is a lot of work to strip and refinish wood. Why are you wanting to paint the wood work?
