DIY Chatroom - DIY Home Improvement Forum

Hello! My name's Mike Farrenkopf. I'm a little late on my intro (have close to ten posts I believe), but I'll throw it out here anyway. I just bought my first home here in Columbus Ohio, and have a bunch of plans in mind. They will be my first construction/carpentry/general home repair type projects, but I'm fairly confident in my general abilities, and am excited to learn tricks as I go. Projects include painting the interior first and foremost, followed by finishing the garage and building shelving, a work bench, etc. in there, building shelving in the basement/crawl, and creating usable home-office space in a small bedroom.

My current knowledge base is in the flooring field, as I've been in the industry for 8 years now. Hopefully I can help in the flooring forum, and I intend to learn as much as possible in the other sections.

I enjoy projects, and often will keep track and post methods/results of anything interesting, so hopefully I can add some useful threads around here. In just browsing around, I've found several other projects that I hadn't even thought about, but would like to attempt some day. I have a feeling this site is going to end up costing me much time and money.
