Introduction:
Hello everyone,
Im new to the forum my trade is welding repair for 40 years, and I have a new project for my home. I live in Alabama which is very hot and humid, and I want to install wood flooring where my carpet was in the living room. I was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction. I would like to know if there is any software you can buy or get free to calculate how many boxes of flooring I would need, and how to install it myself! I truly would welcome and tips and help I can get. thanks Wilbert,

Hi, Welcome to the Forum.
Flooring is most often sold by the sq foot (example click here) Let's say for example to calculate the cost for a room 10' x 15' then the cost is 10 x 15 x cost per ft which is 150 x $5 = $750
