Introduction

My name is Rebekka and my husband and I are trying to do some remodeling of our basement by ourselves. Because of the area we live in its hard to get someone to come here just for a few hours of work here and there so we decided to try some of these things ourselves. My first question is how do we replace some of the rotted 2x4's in the framing? A couple of the 2x4's are rotten and have rotted out the bottom of the frame. Second we had to pull off all of the old drywall because some of it was badly damaged and discovered alot of mold in the insulation and the vapor barrier was wet between it and the insulation. So how do we prevent that from happening again? We are planning to waterproof the walls since I do not believe that was done before the walls were put up before. Any help on these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
