Introduction


First you need to realize that everything that has made you a good teacher over a career of experience will do nothing for your home. Try spying on a good home builders job site and make a list of subs who actually do this. There is little chance you will be able to effectively install a foundation, framing, and drywall. This thread could possibly reach epic lengths before your site work is completed.

Best preparation for DIY is to know what you don't know and where to find the answers, i.e. teachers who know how to research and join HELPFUL forums! Even if you hire subs, you will at least know what to look for!
