HI William,
I am new as of today saying hi from Georgia. In your field of expertise have you heard of ironstone countertops? I'm currently checking them out because of both cost and durability. Any info is appreciated! We are also looking at granite but I'm worried about how they hold up for the money.

TIA

i have not used ironstone, but i suspect it is similar to stilestone. if so it is a terriffic product. slightly more expensive, available in many natural colors, will not stain (lighter colored granites can show stains) installation cost are comperable to granite. hope this helps barry

Welcome to both of you. Mr. B, I like your info, you might come in handy. I have been rehabing a 60's house. Workin on floors now, just prepping for laminate. Plumber is coming to hook up the sink, disposal and dishwasher. I have done everything else myself, with a little help from my husband for the high stuff. (I'm short). I have lots of "how do I" questions. Tia, I love silestone, I agree with Mr. B. Check out silestone. It is basically a quartz prodouct. Really durable. I am actually a decorator/restyler, but I am rehabing my friends mom's house. Whew. Anyhoo, welcome you will love the witty and helpful yacking in here.
