I can see the light after 4 years into remodel.Nobody said it would take this long.

Hi everyone, Doing it yourself is fun and sometimes painful. I'd like to start this thread for those who might want to talk about how gratifying and scary it can be when you take on the challenge.I know for one that I never expected it to take 4 yrs.
Lord knows all the little surprises your house can throw at you. This is a great forum, and if your in the midst of this and feel like giving up,don't. It is so wonderful to have everything come to fruition. The work can really be worth it.

I started my remodel shortly after my divorce over 8 years ago. Wife number 2 and I are just now wrapping up the 1st phase.

Divorce is way more painful. This must be why I have so much time on my hands. My mom is getting up there in years and its her dream to see this house finished. It helps to keep my mind busy.
