I am terrible at home repair, but am here to learn a bit

hello everyone, andy mcgaffigan here from southern california. we bought a home about a year ago, and i have absolutely no idea how to maintain it.

i'm going to attempt to fix a few problems, and I hope some of you could point me in the right direction.

in exchange for your assistance, i promise to post humorous stories regarding how i have injured or otherwise humiliated myself while attempting to perform basic household maintenance. its win - win!

that's my problem...i have no time for manuals or any other kind of written literature...and as a result i have the tendency to destroy everything i attempt to build or repair.

well, all that changes now!!
