Howdy from Chas SC

Hello!

Closed on an older home that is in serious need of updating. Built in 77 it still lives in the 70's. Took us a month to clean up the yard, spent the last 2 weeks peeling wallpaper, currently doing sheetrock work and scraping the popcorn off the ceilings.

And lovin' every minute of it. Over the last 2 months I've read through some of the posts and decided to stay for a bit if you'll keep me

I'll try to post pics as we get going with the house

Thanks in advance for any advice or ideas given

Hey, they've kept me and I live in a 1959 nightmare with wood paneling. Glad you're hooked on the site! Lots to learn here for sure, so welcome!

Thanks! I have paneling too in some places--ick have to replace it ASAP.

There are a couple things that we chose not to do ourselves: replace 25 windows and wrap the eaves in vinyl--we're letting professionals handle that everything else I think we can handle with some encouragement.

come on down--houses are getting cheaper to buy land is getting expensive. we were looking in the country but opted to live in the city for convenience and gas reasons.....lol found a great older neighborhood with no HOA!!! plus hubby had a few requirements that limited us to older neighborhoods vs new construction

taz, we have been focusing on Ft Mill and Rock Hill. No real reason cept it is only part of SC we have ever seen. It does have 4 seasons and that area is similiar to this part of Northwest new jersey I live in. Big plus is the cost of living there. Your yearly taxes are just about my MONTHLY taxes!!!!! If you have other places I should look at holler LOL. Your area is too expensice for me plus those cane thingies like your area LOL LOL
