I post over on the woodworking forum and I enjoy that a lot. In high school I initially was interested in welding and mechanics but I became infected with a woodworking virus when I was 24. I quit my day job and went into cabinetmaking full time when I was 30 in 1974. I worked in that business until I sold it in 1992. After an employment vacation I started to buy rental property and learn to care and repair.I put together a pretty nice one man cabinet shop for my job and enjoyment. I like learning about the industrial arts. Property maintenance is a quick teacher. Last Tuesday I hired a concrete cutter to cut an air conditioner sleeve opening in an 8" thick poured concrete wall. Wednesday I installed the frame, the sleeve, the air conditioner, and the inside trim molding without any dmage to the sheetrock. The outside looks like it was hit by a MACK truck. This week I rebuilt a Moen single lever kitchen faucet, replaced a kitchen faucet sprayer in an apartment, re-set a stool, installed new flush and fill valves, new tank bolts, and installed a new fill line. Last night I got to install a Bosh microwave/convection oven with a trim kit for my wife. As of this minute I'm caught up:-)Thanks for the forum. I look forward to being a part of the action.
