Hi from Kansas City

I'm busy remodeling my 1940 house and am a first time remodeler. I have done lots of laboring for my uncle who was a contractor but I am not a skilled worker by any means. I'm currently remodeling my kitchen, hallway and dining room and making good progress.

I just tiled the kitchen floor, put in new cabinets, and am ready to begin tiling a self-made countertop. I constantly lean on neighbors, friends, and my uncle for help, and thought joining a good forum would be a great resource. I hope this site pans out.

Happy remodeling!

Matt

Hi from Kansas City

Welcome. Would you mind posting up some pics of what you did with your kitchen?

Hi from Kansas City

Here is the kitchen as it is before the grouting was done. I put new sheetrock over the plaster walls and ceiling, installed new cabinets, and this tile was actually set by my wife. I'll post more pics later.

Hi from Kansas City

Looks good. I like the way you put it on the diagonal.

Hi from Kansas City

Looks good!

My wife and I did the same thing in her house [before wife] and are looking at doing it where we are now.

My only suggestion would be go with the darker grout. We did a smoke gray at her place and it looked great new, but picked up every stain in the kitchen even with a sealer.
