Hi everyone

Hi all, just joined and viewed a couple of messages already. Wow, such a lot of advice in one area - really impressed.
I have recently taken up a new hobby - keeping foriegn birds, mainly Australian finches and parakeets. I should add that all of my birds have been bred in captivity and raised in aviaries which brings me to why I joined the chatroom. I am keen to build my own aviaries and 'bird keeping' accessories even down to using natural branches for perches. having never excelled at woodwork or metalwork at school (30+ years ago), I now rely on advice from colleagues or have to get someone to do the work for me. Not only is the later expensive, it also lacks that certain sense of personal achievement. My first challeng is that I wish to add some weatherproofing to my aviary roof as the wind blows the rain inside the aviary. I am considering using acrylic sheeting fixed to the side of the aviary timber panel sides so that the sheet comes out from the avairy at an angle, sort of like a sun shade. I guess I would have to fix some blocks to the aviary first and these would need to be angled as well any ideas of how best to fit this type of shelter?
I would have attached a picture of the aviary but it is 803 kb! is there a way of reducing the size of the file to the 19.4kb accepted??
