Hi all newbie here

Just found the site, although I have been on the DIY site for a while. I'm Mary.

My husband and I bought our home about 2 years ago, and have been totally remodeling it. Although I do most of the work, since he works and I don't. We just completed tiling our counters and backsplash and are now in the finals of the kitchen remodel.

I am sure I will be visiting here a lot. I always do major research before starting any project, but I must say I have gotten very proficient in plumbing and sheetrocking.:D

Hi Mary & hubby!!

Hi Mary & hubby.
Congrats for your new found skills. I'm also doing tile in
my bathroom,front foyer & kitchen.One thought about
tiling a countertop. The grout areas (even when sealed)
will be constantly collecting food and bacteria debris.
Granite is also a poor choice because of its porous surface. I'm going to use a fairly new product, Silestone.
Or Corean. Its harder, but also has some limitations.(burning or discoloration due to cleaners etc.
I've also installed several rooms of Brazilian cherry tongue & groove 3/4" flooring.
I've just joined this forum, and I will be here often.
Whats' the next project for you?
