Hello from Vegas!

Well my husband and I recently got our home and well there are just a few things we would like to do with it...

i was searching for renovation forums and found this...

I would love to do most of this myself or at least try but my husabnd and I are stationed away right now... I have family taking care of the house (i.e. living in it) but they dont know a screw driver from a hammer.

I thought at the very least maybe i could get some advice from people who know what they're doing so i know what to look for and what to watch out... any advice would be helpful...

We are re-doing the kitchen, bathrooms and all the floors in the house and i would like to do the closets and garage too but we are on a budget... I was thinking maybe a handyman for the last two????

For the floors i want to do it in black laminate which i got for a great deal by buying offline... local was just too expensive and then the kichen, bathrooms and laundry rooms will have a 12x12 high gloss white tile in them. for the floors.

I would also like to take out the icky plastic walled bathtubs and put normal tile in there and just a normal tub nothing special i just dont want the cheap-o plastic in there.

for the cabinets i am trying to go for a really clean look... white. i have heard some good (and bad) things about thermo-foil but mostly good so i guess thats what we are going with. Kitchen craft seems to have a pretty good line... (any opinions on this???)

and for the countertops... i really want caesarstone. (in blizzard white) i have heard that caesarstone is 200% better then the corian solid surface... (any opinons on that???)

i know the cabinet people charge and arm and a leg in vegas it took me forever to find a normal price... seriously... I sort of wish i was home just to do it myself i would save a fortune!!!!

hey any DIY people in here with before and afters ha ha ha ha ha (joke ~well sort of) ha ha ha ha ha ha :whistling2:

Are you sure you aren't in the UK ?
Site tracking seems to indicate that

Links that are DIY related are allowed
Others are removed
And yes when we see that info doesn't match up we ask
Too many spammers sign up & lie about where they are located
