Hello from Vancouver, Canada
I am new to home repairs and maintenance and am enjoying doing a lot of things that I used to pay someone for. So far I am pretty cautious (no electrical work, for example), but a lot of the work is simple, once it is demystified.
Vancouver is one of the rainiest places in North America, so water leaks are a huge problem here, and we have just had major storms that have forced water into places that used to be waterproof. And of course you can't fix a leak until the area is dry and warm, which is not possible. Any tips on leaks gratefully accepted. |

Where are the leaks?
roof, basement, walls... |
Leaks
along the edge of the upstairs deck, a torchon membrane with wooden decking over it. The deck slopes in a little, as the house has settled, and so the water pools there. It comes down a bit into the floor below along two of the walls.
