Hello from St. Louis

hello all,

been lurking here for a little while now. I'm 24 years old and recently bought my first house that needs a lot of...TLC to get back up to speed. Im brand new to the DIY genre. really no experience, I've helped my father do minor things, dry wall repair, moldings, real minor stuff.

Im pretty mechanical orientated and extremely safety conscious. I feel like I should be able to pick up alot fairly quickly.

I know the code books are going to be the go to along with this forum. Anyone recommend any books that can demonstrate basic framing, electrical and plumbing concepts.

Things Id like to eventually be able to do is finish a basement, update a kitchen and bath and way down the line maybe an electrical overall.

The house a ranch style all brick exterior 1300 sq ft 3bed 2 bath

Look forward to "working" with you all

Hello from St. Louis

Welcome to the forum!

Try a search in the white "box" at the top of the page for "basement insulation" entered and click "search", one quick way to read good info.
