Hello from Ontario!

I just want to introduce myself. I am an average 28 year old guy. Purchased my first home in August of last year and I come here for information and also leave updates on my current House fix, repair and renovations!

Hello from Ontario!

Welcome. I work mainly on antique homes and buildings. As you probably already know they are usually a combination or dichotomy of lost craftsmanship and really weird ways of doing things. Lots of fun surprises? Will be looking forward to your posts. Go slow as you can is my advice. Maybe yours will be the one with the ancient treasure hidden in a wall. So far all I have found are whiskey bottles from the 1800s!

Hello from Ontario!

Welcome, I'm from Ontario as well.

I did find some old stock price papers in my wall when I was demolishing the basement. They were from 1967. Antique to me anyway.

Hello from Ontario!

I found this unique printing underneath some flooring stuck/printed on the sub-floor....

Would have been interesting to stain and preserve. lol

Hello from Ontario!

wow, some nice finds. I only have a nice collection of old newspapers from the 50s. Its funny how that was a building supply back then.

Welcome to the site.

I'm also new to the site but I find its the greatest network for advice and tips. I've been doing renos for friends and family for 15 years (part time) and you never stop learning. In the part year it has been a full time operation and the most important advice I have learned is to use common sense and do your homework if ever unsure. Never just do it!

enjoy,
