Hello from Northern MI

I was searching around online today and came across this forum. I've been on car forums for a while but am now closing on my first house in two weeks and have a lot to do so I'm very happy to have found this resource. The house is 1600 sq ft, has 2 pole barns, and 14 acres. I will try to give as much imput as I can where my specialties are (vehicles) and take in as much as I can with my house. Here are a few pictures of my truck and my house I close on on October 12th.

Keep your fingers crossed. Although, that might be hard to do when you're signing that stack of papers. lol

Hello from Northern MI

'Yoopers' are Michiganders from the Upper Penninsula. U.P. 'U'pers. There's a great band from up there called 'Da Yoopers'. That may be spelled wrong, and they might not be around any more. Not sure.

Never heard somebody yak about the spelling of Yooper/U'per , I'm just spelling it how my brain thinks of it phonetically (i feel like i've probably heard of the band). I spent the first 13 years of my life up in the Marquette area. I love it up there, the better part of my family still resides in Harvey, Marquette, Houghton and Baraga though i've moved on to grayer pastures (nyc).

Me either. Not being from that area, I'm not even sure why I know any of it. lol

Are you getting nervous about the closing New Image? Pretty exciting.

Hello from Northern MI

We're all closed now actually. We have the carpet torn out and the whole house is just about repainted. I made the 40x32 pole barn much seem much smaller overnight. It now has about 200 bales of hay in there and at least another 200-250 to come from the old barn. I've got most of the fencing done for the horses but still have to put up the dog fencing. I'll be sure to get after pics after we're done with this phase of the project. New carpet is being layed down today, and I'll be putting in a furnace and ducting this weekend. It's been a long week already. We've only owned it for 6 days so far.

Hello from Northern MI

Congratulations! Sounds like you've got your hands full. It's a lot of work, but well worth every minute of it.

Definitely! It sucks going to work now, I just think about the house all day and what I could be doing. I look forward to weekends so much more now.
