Hello from Ken in San Diego!
I really appreciate you all being willing to share your knowledge and expertise. I am one of those guys who, previously, stayed away from home repair at every opportunity. I tried to build a table once....just once when I was a teen and have since steered well clear of home improvement.
But fate played a 'good news-bad news' trick on me and I have now inherited a 3 bedroom house, fully paid for, in a nice area of San Diego.
The problem is it was built in 1959 and other than a new roof and some paint it remains much as it was built. 2 prong outlets and everything.
So I have resolved to learn as much as I can from you folks and do my best to overcome my home repair inadequacies. I will be needing lots of advice as I take on this home remodel, from asbestos tile removal to electrical wiring and everything in between.
Thanks in advance for any help offered and for your patience while I ask lots of stupid questions that I probably should already know...but don't.
Welcome to the club
