Hello from a greenhorn


Hello i'm new on this site....... And looking for a bunch of info.... I'm getting ready to build a new gambrel barn home.. 4 bedroom 2 bath..... With rough cut siding....... And i hate to try to wing it..... .....

Hello from a greenhorn


That sounds like something a former landlord of mine did. He started out building a large gambrel two car garage. While he was working on the garage, fire burned the roof off his house and gutted the inside. He wound converting the garage into a house and eventually rebuilt the burned out house into a 1 1/2 car garage. He was a typical self-taught handyman though and the front wall of the house bowed in as you stood on one side and looked across.

No, buliding a house is definately not something you want to wing. But there are a lot of knowlegeble people on this sight who won't steer you wrong.
