Hello everybody. Found this great resource on the web and think it will be beneficiary for me to become a member of it :)
About me - 22, single, male, 6'00", 165#... just bought a house here in Thornton, Colorado. Major fixer upper - built in 1956, pretty cool design, but needs lots and lots of work.
I consider myself pretty DIY-able. I've been working in construction for the past 5 years (mainly tile). Finished my parents' basement last year - looks better than the rest of the house. Honestly though - I mainly did flooring, painting, framing and other minor things there. The rest was done by contractors. Not gonna be the case with my new house - I am planning to do most of it myself. Time is main constraint - working full time job and 2 part time gigs over that, leaves me occasional nights and Sundays to work on remodeling, which is not nearly enough.
started on plumbing last weekend, about to finish it tonight. Sewer pipe was cracked in the foundation, so had to dig it out and replace. (still on cast iron... needs to go!)
None of this really means I am a construction wiz, I', just constantly learning. I think I know plenty about tile, but when it comes to woodworking - I'm not very good. So I'll have plenty to learn here.
Anyways, I'm sure I'll get to meet most of you on the forums. Thanks all!
Tim.

Hi. Don't be afraid to ask as we have a lot of knowledgeable people here who are willing to help. Sometimes it takes some time for a response, but thats because most of the good answers come from those who work the trade and are usually busy working in the Field. Then when they get home if they are like me, they are busy lifting ice cold cans from the table!
