Installing exterior door
 

I am new to this site and i have a question.I am installing an Exterior Steel Door But my walls are 8" thick Do i Fit the door flush to the outside .Then build the inside up or do i fit it to the inside and build the out sideup

Hpap----Please start a separate thread in 'windows and doors'----few members look into the ;introductions'

If the door swings into the room----it should be mounted to the inside wall----and built out on the outside.
if you don't do that the door can not be fully opened.

Most times a special order door is used so that there is a larger threshold ---you must get the water away from the opening----and an 8" threshold will do that.
