Hello From China

I'm currently living and working in Chengdu, China. There is not much to do here, so I'm hanging out on the net.

Talk soon,

Ryan

Hello From China

OK, all the way from China...what's the nature of your work if you don't mind sharing Ryan.

Welcome.

Keith

Hello From China

Hey Keith,
Nice cabin! I grew up on a bay that looks a bit similar to where you are...fewer trees and more sand, though. It's called Morro Bay, Ca.

Anyway, I'm a writer out here in Asia. I write textbooks. http://smartpassages.com

Not super exciting work, but I do get to travel a lot. I'll subscribe to your thread. It looks like fun!

Ryan

Hello From China

Ryan, do you know I think it must be a good 20 something years since I was at Morro bay. I was lucky enough to take some time and travel the whole coast. Maybe again...someday...soon...

Thanks very much for dropping by my thread.

Hello From China

Welcome from a previous visitor to China (6 trips). You are just north of my favorite city - Kunming or the "Spring City". The people there recognize the joint Chinese and American efforts during WWII when the Flying Tigers operated out of there and protected eastern China.

The people in China are great and really appreciate being open to the world and stretch their legs that were previously restrained. Even if you are there to sell or promote a product, you are their guest and and must never insult them by trying to spend any money. I got a kick of their love of bowling as a social/business choice and using the super-sophisticated American made setting and scoring systems that also give suggested pick-up options/paths based on your previous balls and tracking.

It is a place that is so vast and varied than it could take years to scratch the surface.

Dick
