Hello from central Iowa...

Sorry, I missed this thread before posting some replys...sorry.

My wife and I have been building our own home...2238 W/ 3 car built using ICF's. This week we hit a mile stone of having it drywalled. We've been doing all the work...plumbing, electrica, subfloor, framing stacking the blocks, infloor radiant heat, the whole thing. Stressful you bet...wouldn't have it any other way!

I just found this group and it looks like there's a lot of good questions and from what I can tell great responses. I look forward to learning more from others and hopefully I can provide a bit of advice along the way.

See you around!

Rip

Hello from central Iowa...

This site is a great place.
A lot of really great people giving great advice.

Building your own house?
Wow, that's wonderful.

I bet when you are done, it will certainly be done properly.
I had a house built by a contractor approx. 3 years ago.
I am presently renovating my basement, the whole thing, framing insulating drywalling, electrical, plumbing, etc, etc.

I already have learned so many things that my contractor either did not do, and missed, or could have done better.

So, good for you for doing your own house.

Best of luck.
