I'm living on Saint Croix (pron. CROY) in the United Stated Virgin Islands. About one thousand miles south-east of Miami, three hours by air. I've generally been here since 1988. I've tolerated lots of hurricanes, but that's just one day of bad weather a year or maybe five years, or maybe longer. It's expensive living here. And you need to be very excusing of craziness, Paradise isn't for everyone. But there are some great little beaches!
I just bought a fixer-upper of a house, and might have a few questions, ha-ha.
I don't know if this is the right thing for me to do, I've spent a lot of my time living on small sailboats, wandering around. Ah, well, we will see!
LOL, I have no idea. Lots of termites here, so just about all lumber is pressure treated, so it's heavy, and every bit has to be shipped in, like on a ship, so it's bound to be a lot more than what you pay.
