Hello again from Germany

Holly smokes, I saw that underground base in a documentary on TV. Only I had no idea at the time that it was Geibelstadt .

Hello again from Germany

Here is a site where you ask about the roof tiles in the photos... Looks like a clay tile of some sort.

Hello again from Germany

They are clay. I will take pictures of them for you. Today I start to take them off. On one side of the house the tiles are from 1991, they stamp the date on them now. The other side must be at least 40 years old, not too sure. I hate to just throw them away but I have no time to try and get them down in one piece. I'm going to catch heck from my neighbors for chucking them. I will post updates. Thanks, Scott

Hello again from Germany

Remids me of when I lived in Butzbach... and was stationed in Freidberg. But anyway, ask your neighbors if they would like some of those tiles just in case they ever need them for their houses... might be a way to get some free labor/help while you do the demo work...

Hello again from Germany

I was stationed at Conn Barracks in Schwienfurt. I married a girl from a nearby village. We go back almost every year to visit. Not this year though.

When it comes to houses they do things different over there. Most of the houses I've been in could take a direct hit from a 105mm!

Hello again from Germany

I got started on Friday and got them off by Saturday. I had some help of course. Today I started knocking the chimineys down with a hammer and chisel. Quite alot of work! I will begin to get the beams down next. I'll keep posting as things go.
