Hello all from a DIY novice.

Living in an apartment in New York City for the majority of my life has limited my exposure to DIY projects. My family recently purchased a beach home in New Jersey, and they have come up with a list of home improvement projects that need to be done.

I am a hands-on person, so I would love to do as many projects as I can on my own (read: with a lot of help from all of you). With that being said, I do realize I have limited knowledge, and some jobs will require professional work.

So basically I am here to learn whatever I can about general handyman work and DIY projects. I will also have plenty of questions for the more experienced members of the forum.

Welcome to our forums!

We all have one thing in common, help you DIY!

Clothes taking longer to dry?
Clean the dryer screen in HOT water if using fabric softener sheets.
They leave a residue that impedes air-flow, costing you money.
Clean the ducting in the last six months? 17,000 dryer fires annually!
